The image of a child, balanced on a boulder, entranced by birds circling in the trees above was the subject of this study for an outdoor public sculpture project, completed in 2002. The study was made in 2000, and the bronze edition was produced in 2004.

About the Artist:
New York based artist Judith Shea's sculpture has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide since the mid-1970's. Her sculpture is in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden of the Smithsonian Instutution in Washington, D.C., The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and many other public institutions.
