Boeing Art Collection

When a company with the stature and rich history of Boeing moved to its new corporate headquarters in Chicago it was fitting that their 500 piece art collection in the new facility also tell the story of their great innovations and contributions to the world of aerospace. The defining moments of commercial and military aircraft, and space travel were told through historical paintings, artifacts, models and photographs from their archives.

The added chapter of how these accomplishments and images were assimilated into the daily lives of regular people was told through fine art paintings, prints and photographs made by artists like Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Su Xing Ping that were acquired by Boeing to feature in the reception areas on each floor.

With the design of the Boeing conference facility, there was also an opportunity to create a gallery for ongoing exhibitions that would continue to highlight work drawn from their abundant archives, as well as loans from museums like the Seattle Air and Space Museum and the NASA collection.
